Hi Y’all! I want to talk about something that many momma’s experience while they are breastfeeding, a drop in your milk supply. I noticed mine about two weeks ago. I went from pumping enough milk for the day for my babe down to about 17oz. My first reaction was to panic and take to Pinterest. I searched the best supplements to take for a drop in supply. That is when I came across Motherlove products. I read up about the company and found that their supplements were all made from certified organic herbs, and the reviews were fantastic. I immediately sent an email about one of their products I saw. To my much appreciated surprise, I got a quick response asking several other questions to figure out what could attribute to my drop.
- What are the indications that your supply has decreased?
- How many times are you breastfeeding in a 24 hour period?
- Have you had a good supply up until this point?
- Are you working with a lactation consultant?
- How old is your baby and how many ounces does she get per feeding?
- Have you night weaned or how many hours are you going between feeds in the middle of the night?
- Have you checked your pump parts to make sure they are working correctly?
- Do your nipples hurt when you pump?
All of these questions that were asked helped Motherlove determine which lactation supplement was best for my situation. After I answered those questions, the lactation counselor informed me that their, More Milk Plus, was the best supplement for my drop in milk production. The day I received the pills I immediately took two, she informed me that I should see an increase within the first 24-48 hours. And thank the good Motherlove heavens above I did. I saw on average an extra ounce per pumping session.
